Casper Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales: what you need to know

Casper released its so-called Black Friday 2022 mattress sale in the first week of November, with discounts across the range. The amount you save depended on the size and model, with the discount increasing with price. The biggest saving is on the range-topping Wave Hybrid Snow, which had up to $800 off. In early November, the discounts weren’t great – roughly 10% off the price of the Original, around 15% off the Original Hybrid and Nova Hybrid, and around 20% off the Wave Hybrid Snow. Considering the fact that Casper has a long-running offer that knocks 15% off if you sign up to its newsletter, it was only really a good discount if you were wanting the Wave Hybrid Snow. The discounts (under the same branding) changed over the course of the month – for example, the Monday before Black Friday, the discount on the Original bumped up to around 23% off, for one day only. However, a day or so out from actual Black Friday, what we would consider to be the proper Black Friday Casper deals appeared, with a blanket 25% off almost the entire range (only the then-new Element Pro was excluded, with no discount). This deal lasted until just after Cyber Monday. A twin-sized Casper Original cost $671.25 (MSRP $895), a full size was $896.25 (MSRP $1,195), the queen dropped to $971.25 (MSRP $1,295) and a king-size cost $1,271.25 (MSRP $1,695). These prices are significantly better than the usual Casper sale, which is essentially 15% off when you sign up to the newsletter. In 2021, there was 30% off the Wave Hybrid and Nova Hybrid, while the Casper Original got a 20% discount (there were no discount codes available for the entry-level Casper Element). So the discounts were smaller, but the MSRPs were lower too, which means you’ll be paying significantly more for your mattress if this year than you would if you’d purchased last year (for example, last year, a queen size cost $876 down from an MSRP $1,095 on Black Friday). That’s not unusual in the wider context of the industry though – lots of brands have put their prices up over the course of the year.
