It’s actually the first Wear OS 3 smartwatch I’ve gone hands-on with since my Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 review, because the other Wear OS 3 smartwatches running on the same Snapdragon 4100+ chipset found in the Montblanc Summit 3 have yet to receive the full software upgrade. I’m betting that’ll change with the launch of the Google Pixel Watch; but, for now, the Summit 3 lets me step out in some swanky Wear OS wrist-candy....

Specifically, Foxconn — Apple’s primary partner for assembling iPhones — reports that it’s not suffering any ill effects from Covid lockdowns in China earlier this spring. “The overall lockdown impact on Foxconn is rather limited,” chairman Young Liu said in the Nikkei Asia report (opens in new tab), adding that the company’s manufacturing plants have been operating at normal levels. That’s potentially good news for Apple. When news of Covid lockdowns hit, Foxconn was set to pause operations at its Shenzen facilities....
Claimed iPhone 14 Pro performance figures have just been posted by leaker iHacktu (via VNchocoTaco on Twitter), giving us an idea of how powerful Apple’s new phone could be. Using the AnTuTu benchmark app as a basis, iHacktu says we can expect 35% and 45% increases in GPU and CPU test results. The iPhone 14 Pro’s overall score will supposedly be around 896,000, about a 5% increase on what the iPhone 13 Pro Max can manage....
Kuo claims that we’ll see USB-C on all four expected iPhone 15 models, which we’ve heard before. This move was probably inevitable given legislative pressure in the EU, U.S. and other countries to adopt a common port for mobile devices. However, what Kuo adds is that there could be a speed gap between the different models’ ports. The problem is the electric car industry has grown a lot in the past four years, and the electric SUV segment is getting increasingly competitive.
