Maicat No CES would be complete without some sort of animatronic animal. The Maicat, appearing on a Kickstarter campaign near you, is an AI-driven robotic cat that is studded with sensors, will purr and react to pets and touches, and will be able to recognize up to 100 different people. Earlier this week, CD Projekt Red, which developed the three Witcher games and published the latter two, announced that “the original Witcher game is being remade from the ground up.” There’s no timeline for The Witcher Remake project, but the company is working alongside developer Fool’s Theory, which employs team members from The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. In other words, the Witcher Remake’s pedigree seems solid; the only question is whether this game — which is perfectly playable on modern PCs — needs the full remake treatment....

The OLED in question is supposedly ultra-portable — weighing in at just 20 pounds — and can run off its proprietary battery back for around 30 days before it needs to be recharged. The TV itself is 55 inches and, according to the company that makes it, can be “easily secured to any surface with no mounting required” using its proprietary active-loop vacuum technology. Qualcomm doesn’t make chipsets for the iPhone, of course, but Snapdragon silicon does power many of the iPhone’s chief rivals, including Samsung’s Galaxy S series. And now that we’ve seen the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, we have a better idea of what kind of chipset is going to power next year’s Galaxy S23 phones, assuming Samsung uses the new Qualcomm offering as is widely expected.
