Despite not appearing at the Peek Performance Apple Event, we’ve heard plenty of rumors suggesting that an Apple M2 chip is coming. But there is some bad news, with a new report claiming that the upcoming MacBook Air 2022 may still come with an Apple M1 chip. That’s according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (opens in new tab) who “strongly believes” that the redesign will feature the original Apple Silicon chip....

While hardware is far from certain, if anything is to be unveiled at next month’s Apple Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), it’ll be the MacBook Air 2022, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. In the latest edition of his Power On newsletter (opens in new tab), the well connected Apple reporter repeated his view that “if there’s any hardware at WWDC, it will likely be on the Mac side.” Apple, he says, has been “aiming to launch the next MacBook Air with M2 chips at the conference....
