Starting next Tuesday (June 21), T-Mobile says that its subscribers will enjoy an exclusive 25-cent-per-gallon discount at Shell stations through the latter’s Fuel Rewards program. The promotion, part of the wireless carrier’s T-Mobile Tuesday giveaways, runs through the week of Labor Day. The discounted gas at Shell is just one of the many travel-related promotions T-Mobile is launching though the new Coverage Beyond initiative unveiled today (June 16). In addition to other perks such as free AAA memberships and T-Mobile-exclusive deals with Priceline, the wireless carrier is bolstering its in-flight Wi-Fi access and overseas data perks that figure to cement T-Mobile’s status as the carrier with the best international phone plans....

As reported by BleepingComputer (opens in new tab), the high-severity vulnerability (tracked as CVE-2022-3723) exists in the V8 Javascript engine that powers Chrome and was first discovered by a security researcher at Avast. Ironically, Google had just finished pushing out a number of security fixes for its browser when it received a vulnerability report from the cybersecurity firm on the same day. The search giant has been hard at work fixing zero-day vulnerabilities in its browser as six have been discovered so far in this year alone....

This achievement was declared in a Chromium Blog (opens in new tab) post written by Senior Director of Chrome Engineering Max Christoff. Running version M99 of Google Chrome on Macs fitted with Apple M1 chips resulted in the highest-ever results using the Apple-developed Speedometer 2.0 browser benchmark of 300 points. This Chrome result even beat out Safari, macOS’ native browser app, by a 7% overall margin and a 15% margin when it came to graphics performance....

But things are changing for some smart products. Google’s newer Nest cameras — the Nest Cam (indoor), Nest Cam with Floodlight, Nest Cam (battery) and Nest Doorbell (battery) — can now work with Alexa. That means when a visitor comes to your door, not only will Alexa be able to announce their presence, but if you have an Alexa-enabled smart display, you’ll be able to see a live view from the camera....

Production of the Google Pixel 6a is now apparently underway, and its launch is supposedly “imminent.” This is according to leaker Mukul “StuffListings” Sharma (opens in new tab) on Twitter, who says that Google has starting building Pixel 6a phones in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and possibly India. This new claim fits in with the consensus of rumors (including hints from Google’s own CEO) that have pointed to the Pixel 6a debuting during Google I/O 2022, which happens this Wednesday (May 11)....
